Case in point, Julian's reforms to the religion, the man is usually said to be the last hope for the Roman religion but even his reforms would have stripped away several defining features with some evidence even pointing to a reduction of the gods to personalities or appendages of one super god like Sol Invictus. Germania Mostly but covers some other areas of Europe as well.Ĭlick to expand.I kind of understand what he means in that after the empire had been firmly 'locked' Christian under Theodosius or heck even after Constantine most historical scholars are of the opinion that any revived Roman religion after that was simply going to have to change so much that we wouldn't even call it the same religion. My order of operations: Roman, Latin, Latinized Greek, latin names of my own creation. Spanish kingdoms are named for the roman provinces they most resemble at the kingdoms greatest extent: Portugal = LustianiaĪndalusia is an exception in that it is named for Baetica which covers Andalusia at its smallest. Germania, England, Scotland, Orkney Islands, Ireland, Carpathia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Khazaria, Crimea/Taurica, Moldavia, and Wallachia, Mauretania, Sijilmasa, Mzab and the Canary Islands. I've covered everything the Empire ever held and then some: I know it says its for HIP but I thought you could use it to help find roman names places spanning the Roman Empire. There could be only one of these reconquests at a time, but it allows for the ambitious to prosper. ![]() If they succeed in the conquest, they get governorship of the area. Maybe there could be mechanics where consul ranked characters within Rome can motion to invade kingdom-tier neighbors (such as France/Gaul) and the senate votes whether or not to support it. Perhaps during this initial time, the leader would just be titled Consul, and later after uniting all of Rome there may be a decision to be crowned Emperor (with various penalties and bonuses). I'd personally enjoy occupying Rome and then having decisions and casus beli allowing me to rightfully reconquer Italia. They had a senate and everything long before then. Rome was not declared "Rome" after all of Italy was conquered. Why is holding Rome not enough? That's where Rome started and thus began their conquests to occupy the rest of Italy and fight their rivals. I suggest not making it a requirement to hold all of Italy, this seems like a goal after having restored the Roman republic. What this mod will be about and contain, along with my plans: I have been working on this mod for a little over two weeks, so it's still quite early to speak about a possible release. Roma Aeterna (Eternal Rome) will all about restoring Roman civilization and culture and immersion into Roman society. Or maybe I'll finish Kemet before this mod, who knows? As my interest of things randomly changes, I don't know whether I will finish a first release of this mod before another culture captures my interest (such as Ancient Mesopotamia or Ancient Hellenic civilization). I will release it some day, probably when my interest in Kemetic culture resurfaces. ![]() I already announced a mod called Kemet - Empire of the Sun a year ago, but I never got to releasing it as I lost interest in it. This inspired me to create a mod dedicated to restoring the true Roman Empire. ![]() ![]() Roma Aeterna Greetings, the last month I have been incredibly interested in ancient Roman history for some reason (maybe the announcement of Imperator:Rome has something to do with this).
